AndyBsk Posted 8 July Share Posted 8 July It could be so like You mentioned, anyway the extra one has a brass rivets instead of steel rivet behind the crosspiece to hold blade in handle. Sometimes is too that there are weight differences as to sample blade have thickness smaller about 0,5mm but on 47cm it made a lot difference. Schwartzwald Metzger Posted 24 July Share Posted 24 July @Steve1871 I recently posted the Soemmerda I got from Grandpa. He brought it back from WW2 as a war trophy. I never heard his story about it. I was surprised to see more out there. Property marks look the same as yours.... But I may be wrong as I am absolutely not an expert.
Rafal1971 Posted 24 July Share Posted 24 July Nice and rare bayonet Your photo shows a 71/94 Bavarian NCO bayonet (hence the saw). It comes from the year 1891, date 91 during the reign of the Bavarian king Ludwig, the letter L under the crown. It is a combat bayonet but turned into a private bayonet, hence the nickel plating Best
