The Captain Posted 24 February , 2022 Share Posted 24 February , 2022 A friend has shown me the attached letter, dated 1918, which comes from King George, and appears to have been sent to a homebound released POW. I haven't seen one before, but I wonder if others are familiar with letters like this. Unfortunately, at this stage, we don't know who it was sent to. Any info appreciated. Thanks. Admin kenf48 Posted 24 February , 2022 Admin Share Posted 24 February , 2022 See https://www.iwm.org.uk/collections/item/object/30084510 This is a framed example, not originally framed. Sent to all returning POWs facsimile signature This extract from a longer report in the Scotsman January 17 1919 states the letter was read to the returning POWS and presumably they were given a copy when they left the reception. They were not named. Image from BNA at FMP
