ChrisC Posted 22 March , 2005 Share Posted 22 March , 2005 In Chorleywood Road Cemetery, Herts I recently spotted and photographed a commemoration to CECIL JOHN TRACY RAS MTC ONLY SON OF JOHN TRACY DROWNED IN FRANCE ON ACTIVE SERVICE APRIL 3rd 1916 AGED 30 Looking him up on CWGC, the only Cecil John is listed as Army Service Corps with a burial in May. Terry Denham Posted 22 March , 2005 Share Posted 22 March , 2005 Most likely answer is the the n-o-k got it wrong for some reason when they decided to put a memorial stone in Chorleywood Road. Maybe they misunderstood a message from the military or were told the wrong date initially. We have no indication of when the stone was placed there - could have been twenty years later.
