Simon J Emmerson Posted 10 September , 2022 Share Posted 10 September , 2022 Hi Folks, A quick question regarding identifying this particular postcard. Did the 9th Londons have a cloth backing too. Apologies about the quality of the photos it's the best I can do. Regards Simon
CorporalPunishment Posted 10 September , 2022 Share Posted 10 September , 2022 Looking at the upper arm of the cross I would go for 6th Londons who had the SA honour in that position. Pete.

I concur with Pete that the 9th London’s (QVR) appears to be the unit in your photo. Edited 10 September , 2022 by FROGSMILE

Pete. Many thanks for your advice. The only thing that put me off thinking 6th was there's daylight in the centre of the cap badge.

Thank you once again. I've just replied to Corporal Punishment. I ruled out the 6th due to no daylight around the string bugle.

Simon J Emmerson Posted 10 September , 2022 Author Share Posted 10 September , 2022 I do enjoy the challenge of identifying the Maltese type Cross cap badges. Thank you to and Corporal Punishment for your replies and advice.

Frogsmile, there is some confusion here, you are talking about the 9th Londons, I was referring to the 6th Londons due to what appears to be the SA honour on the upper arm of the cross. Pete. Pete. Ah I see, understood Pete. I fear I crossed my wires. I totally agree regarding the voids in the centre of both badges depending upon manufacture. Unlike you I cannot see the SA honour on the upper arm of the cross because both the images posted by Simon are blurred. I had thought at first you meant the tablet elongating the top arm of the cross below the crown.
