shiverz84 Posted 7 March , 2023 Share Posted 7 March , 2023 I know that it is a 1886/15 model bayonet but I was wondering about why there is no serial number and what the markings mean.
AndyBsk Posted 8 March , 2023 Share Posted 8 March , 2023 Firstly You should measure the blade lenght as this could be a WW2 german shortage, for this speaks the blued blade, the serial number could be weakly stamped and was damaged by rust, or the serial was removed. shiverz84 Posted 8 March , 2023 Author Share Posted 8 March , 2023 Can you tell me anything about the markings?
AndyBsk Posted 9 March , 2023 Share Posted 9 March , 2023 What for marking? the C and ? could be deliverer of blade, the small tinny proof on side of guard could be proof, the 15 and 8 on pommel should be a rack or technological number, only hint that You could help, would be the serial with prefix letter on lower part of guard, but is not visible there.
