Admin Bob Davies Posted 26 January Admin Share Posted 26 January Incase you are not aware of this site @TomP I will add a link for you. This is where to find the 'Indian Army Lists' and a whole lot more. https://wiki.fibis.org/w/Main_Page
alf mcm Posted 26 January Share Posted 26 January C.A. Vivian mentioned above with the map was Major and Brevet Lt. Col. Charles Augustus Vivian, who was killid in action on 27th April 1915. This entry from De Ruviny's Roll of Honour gives some interesting information;- Image courtesey Ancestry. The image is quite small but this link may help;- https://www.ancestry.co.uk/imageviewer/collections/60454/images/de_ruvignys_vol_1-de_ruv_vol1_pg_0361?pId=32526 For Indian Army Lists the quarterly issues {January, April, July and October} give details of war service. For the Great War service you need to check quarterly lists from 1919. To search for an officer, put his name in the 'search' field for lists from archive.org. Press 'enter', wait a few seconds, then scroll through the results. Regards, Alf McM
