Thanks Bob

I did look through the 1914-15 WDs of the Indian Divisions when I was trying to locate maps.

C.A. Vivian mentioned above with the map was Major and Brevet Lt. Col. Charles Augustus Vivian, who was killid in action on 27th April 1915. This entry from De Ruviny's Roll of Honour gives some interesting information;-

Image courtesey Ancestry.

The image is quite small but this link may help;-  https://www.ancestry.co.uk/imageviewer/collections/60454/images/de_ruvignys_vol_1-de_ruv_vol1_pg_0361?pId=32526

For Indian Army Lists the quarterly issues {January, April, July and October} give details of war service. For the Great War service you need to check quarterly lists from 1919. To search for an officer, put his name in the 'search' field for lists from archive.org. Press 'enter', wait a few seconds, then scroll through the results.

Thanks for these Alf McM,

another place full of gems but often not what you are looking for is Acedamia edu.

Hundreds of subjects, some are free to view, which is what I do but you can access more if you pay.

Certainly worthwhile looking.

Thanks for that Bob. Makes it easier to read.

Thanks to you for finding him on the roll Alf McM, 'Charles Augustus Vivian' was part of the 'Chitral Relief Force', which is one of my interests.

Well before the Great War so I must not go off topic.
