charlie962 Posted 14 July Share Posted 14 July ICRC is difficult to negotiate. Findmypast indexing helps hugely but there are transcription error by ICRC and by Findmypast so you have to try lots of wildcards. The last three exemples are typical. charlie962 Posted 15 July Share Posted 15 July Sorry, direct link hasn't worked. But names like Harris and Evans are do common that the straddle more than one block in ICRC. You need to look in the second block Harris again https://grandeguerre.icrc.org/fr/File/Details/2002743/3/2/
weshallremember Posted 15 July Author Share Posted 15 July it's weird the IRCC when i look for Harris on the side index IT SAYS 42 after where it says HARRIS on the side index in then lists the regiments but it only goes down as far as the Middlesex regiment???? ALTHOUGH THERE IS A WHITE ARROW AT THE BOTTOM OF THE PAGE WHEN I PUT THE CURSER ON IT ITHE ARROW CHANGES TO RED although other names have been ok and EVANS THERE IS NO LIST ON THE LEFT INDEX FOR WELSH REGIMENT?????? STRANGE trevor
charlie962 Posted 15 July Share Posted 15 July If you search for Harris you get this: Go to the white bar in the left hand Black index and click on the arrow (see below circled in red) You will get the rest of the Harris Régiments as an option. Click on the circle as I've done in blue Hope you can follow me
charlie962 Posted 15 July Share Posted 15 July (edited) Evans, welsh regiment was identified as a problem a long while back. Don't know if ever resolved by ICRC. I suspect not.
