Note the captured date 9/4 per ICRC but 13/4 (end of action) per service record. This may explain similar discrepancies in some other men's records

I HAVE FOUND SOME MORE WITH ALL DETAILS AS WELL

SO UP TO  202  NOW

AND YES NEARLY ALL OF THE DATES ON THE IRCC  ARE 9TH WITH EXPLAINS A LOT   

MIND YOU 4 ARE DATED AS 8TH A TYPO I THINK

Have you made sure you've eliminated doubles, eg where several cards exist for same man due to different spelling?

What was the total figure at the time for missing for the 18th Battalion- War Diary at bn or Brigade or higher level?

GOT 2 MORE

REALLY BIG THANKS FOR YOUR HELP AND TIME

NO DUPLICATE SOLDIERS SO UP TO NOW 204

THERE WERE 15 OFFICERS AND 306 MEN MISSING

NOW I JUST HAVE TO CHECK OFF THE KILLIED LIST AND THE SOLDIERS I HAVE AGAINST THE PAPER MISSING LIST OVER THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS

WHICH IS EASY AND SEE WHATS LEFT

APART FROM THE CREASED BOOK BINDER WHICH IS A PAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MIGHT NOT EVER KNOW WHO THEY ARE??????

(I WILL UPDATE WHEN FINISHED)

CONFUSED WITH CLEGG THE INDEX CARD UNDER THE ENQUIRY SEEMS TO SAY 1/7  W R     WEST RIDING ????

I CONTACTED THE NATIONAL LIBRARY OF SCOTLAND ABOUT THE CASUALTY PAGE BINDER BITS I COULD NOT READ

AND THEY SENT ME ANOTHER BETTER COPY

 ALSO I SENT AN EQUIRY TO THE C W G C ABOUT SOMETHING I FOUND

IF THEY REPLY EVENTUALLY AND CONFIRM  WHAT I THINK I HAVE FOUND THEN I WILL POST THE DETAILS

NOW TONIGHT THE FINAL CHECK!!!!!!

Soldiers effects on Ancestry show presumed death date 13/4/18
