The Stand-By in 1914-18

I’m not sure where to post this little tin, which has come to me following a recent family bereavement. Perhaps it belongs in Skindles. I don’t know the age of the tin, but I found the claim rather interesting - that Horlicks Tablets were the stand-by during the Great War:

I remember eating them In the late 50s as a child and by then they came in a wrapped tube.   I was born in 1946 and rationed finished in 1954, I think,

but as children we were always hungry and they tasted good.  Sue

Tins are still sold. The 150th anniversary of the tablets was celebrated last year with a special tin.  So by 1914 they were a well established brand.
