Ian Binnie Posted Monday at 09:28 Share Posted Monday at 09:28 The talk is based on the new book We Too Were There by the speaker. An extensive exploration of the contribution of Indian troops along the Western Front has produced a reasonable commentary. However, the contribution of the Indian troops in military operations on the peninsula of Gallipoli, except for a few, has not been adequately researched. The book is a singular attempt to honour the memory of more than sixteen thousand Indian troops who served on the Gallipoli peninsula during the First World War from April 1915 to December 1915. The speaker is a serving Indian Army Officer with twenty-five years of military experience. His academic qualifications include an MPhil degree in International Relations and a Doctorate in Defence and Strategic Studies from Panjab University, Chandigarh. His new book is his second book.
