Chris_Baker
I am interested in interpreting what the text means on this card, which is from the WFA collection. I read it as "PWP accts", so presumably "accounts". What would the PWP mean? Just fyi, the soldier served from 1900 and earned the Long Service & Good Conduct Medal. I have seen "Pre-War Pension" mentioned on this forum, but how might that match up to a man with long service? charlie962
PWP has been identified by those who know ( @Matlock1418 and craig) on this forum as Prewar Pensions. Ie for someone with previous service pensioned off. Charlie (Would not this fit for Burch who received LSGC with Gratuity 1918, I think?) This just repeats what you said in your op! Chris_Baker
Just for clarity. Man served with colours 1900 to November 1918. Was discharged on medical grounds (sickness).
