Evening, I am doing some research on Richard Arthur Lees Knowles M.C. A friend kindly lent me a copy of the school register  for Eton 1909 to 1919 which has an entry for Richard but does not seem to have a key to the abbreviations. If anyone is familiar with the register, could you tell me what A.C.G.H. in brackets under his name might mean. I would very much like a photograph of this brave young man. Does anyone have suitable contact information for the college. i am hoping he might appear somewhere in their archives. Any advice gratefully received. Sue

Not readily spotting him in the online digital archive but there is a 'Knowles" in a couple of the rowing teams c1914/15 without further information https://catalogue.etoncollege.com/advanced-search

I believe the initials are those of the housemaster the pupil was in, but haven't seem anything to confirm that.
