AlanCurragh Posted 13 May , 2008 Share Posted 13 May , 2008 Re-opening a long dormant thread - but has anyone read Grasping Gallipoli and if so any comments? Thanks Alan
gem22 Posted 14 May , 2008 Share Posted 14 May , 2008 Alan It's a year or so now since I read the book and I've since had chance to spend a few days in Gallipoli. My original impression of the book was that it was extremely informative and a worthwhile read. The author concentrates on the geography, geology and mapping of the peninsula; something I found very interesting. I think that he puts to rest some of the myths that abound about Gallipoli without getting into arguments about personalities. If you are thinking about visiting Gallipoli then I would suggest that it is a MUST READ; if you're simply curious about the campaign then I would say it's a recommended read. Hope that helps Garth
