Raster Scanning Posted 26 September , 2003 Share Posted 26 September , 2003 I am currently researching 26584 A/Cpl Harry Kinch, B Coy 7th Beds. He came from Byfield in Northant's and was listed as being wounded on July 1st 1916. After recovering (I assume), he joined the RE's with the number 343565. The MRI later shows he was re numbered WR/278906. Has anyone any idea why this would have happened and what the WR prefix means? Any other info on this man appreciated. Cheers. John. Chris_Baker Posted 26 September , 2003 Share Posted 26 September , 2003 WR prefix also included road and quarrying companies of RE's. Looks like he was posted from one Company to another.
