Mystery notation

Hello Everyone

This notation was found on the back of the birth certificate of Albert Barnett (see earlier posting in this section).

"RH & RFA Record Office 8.4.1911, Army Accounts Office 7.May 1906 and RH & RFA Office 14 May 1906". Underneath this is stamped "AR2" a line and on top of the line, handwritten, "641".

It seems likely to me that Albert left the service after 7 years with the colours in May 1906 and was transferred to the reserve for a further 5 years. On 8/4/1911 he signed for another period with the reserve. I am most interested to know whether anybody can identify what the "AR2 641" means?.

Oh B****r

I never even considered that. It actually makes sense. Maybe it relates to his reserve status.

Thanks Ian
