Doug Lewis Posted 14 October , 2003 Share Posted 14 October , 2003 Could anyone please help me with my geography. I have recently received information on my Grt Uncle who was KIA 16th Oct 1917 while serving with 2/5 Btn Sth Staffs. The report states he was killed (probably by sniping or artillary fire as only one other man was killed on that day) while his Btn was holding a section of the front line. The war diary states the Btn was at CITE de RIAUMONT at this time, could anyone please tell me where this place was/is. Regards Doug
Annie Posted 14 October , 2003 Share Posted 14 October , 2003 "Cité de Riaumont" is an area of Liévin, near Lens. I don't known if it's yours... Annie
