Terry_Egalton Posted 19 October , 2003 Share Posted 19 October , 2003 Hi All! While going through the war diary of the 89th Infantry Brigade at the PRO/NA I came across the diary of the 89th Coy MGC. Tucked away in it was this map of the defences at Maricourt. As I open it I saw this beautiful map but unfortunately as i re-folded the map it fell apart. Feeling guilty I had a copy made . I hope some Pals will find it of interest. Regards Terry
John_Hartley Posted 19 October , 2003 Share Posted 19 October , 2003 Terry - you're a star, mate. When I was researching the 17th Mancs, I was after something this detailed, but only had sketches for the 1 July attack, which didnt cover Maricourt itself. Never occured to me to look at the next Brigade. Doh! John

Terry_Egalton Posted 19 October , 2003 Author Share Posted 19 October , 2003 John, no probs mate, glad you can make use of it. Malcolm, well done. Just as it was before I destroyed it I was a bit sad that the map fell apart after I opened it but at least we have a copy to pass on. Does anyone know if the NA preserve docs and maps that are in a bad state, or do they just leave them and hope for the best? Regards Terry
