Just finished reading Gary Sheffield's book 'the Somme' in pb. Excellent book - which gives clear summary of the findings of leading revisionist historian of the First World War. Recommended.

Anybody interested in the Somme has to read Rogersons 'Twelve Days on the Somme'.
