Geoff Parker Posted 29 October , 2003 Share Posted 29 October , 2003 John I have searched through my RA books and all I can find for 326th Bty is that on 11th Nov 1918 they were part of 91st Bde 1st Army and equipped with either 6inch or 9.2 Howitzers depending on the source. Sorry this doesnt help but may enable you to search through another source. Geoff

rflory Posted 8 November , 2003 Share Posted 8 November , 2003 The 326th Siege Battery, RGA went to France on 14 May 1917, armed with four 6" Howitzers. From 30 May 1917 to 5 Sep 17 it was attached to the 91st Heavy Artillery Group. Unfortunately no trace has been found of its War Diary for that period and I am not aware of any published unit history. Regards. john w. Posted 8 November , 2003 Author Share Posted 8 November , 2003 Thanks for that, the soldier I amresearching died 8th Feb 1917, before they left as it states he died at home... Any idea where they were based in the UK? John
rflory Posted 12 November , 2003 Share Posted 12 November , 2003 I am not sure were it was formed. Many of the later siege batteries were formed at Lydd, but I have not been able to confirm that fact for the 326th. What is your man's name? Regards.
