Guest neil254 Posted 3 November , 2003 Share Posted 3 November , 2003 I'm trying to find information about a relative, Samuel Short, who I'm told died during WW1. The only information I have been able to find up to now is that he was born in Sunderland, Durham and was aged 6 at the time of the 1901 census. Would it be possible to find further details in "Soldiers Died..." as I do not know in which regiment he served? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Guest neil254 Posted 3 November , 2003 Share Posted 3 November , 2003 Thank you very much for such a prompt reply! I had checked on the CGWC site and had an S.Short of the Cameronians listed as a possible match. Thanks again. Neil
Tom Morgan Posted 3 November , 2003 Share Posted 3 November , 2003 No problem. I should have mentioned that there are only three soldiers called Samuel Short listed in "Soldiers Died....." and that of the other two, one came from Birmingham and the other from Grimsby. So it looks as if 12649 Pte. Short is your soldier. Tom
