DUKE OF CORNWALL`S LIGHT INFANTRY

My grandfathers brother was in the above.He died 11 September 1918 and is remembered in MOEUVERS COMMUNAL CEMETRY EXTENTION.Could anybody tell me what the 10 service battlion Cornwall pioneers were doing around this date?I am very aware that this is perhaps an easy question,but as time goes by and my understanding deapens THEN I might be able to ask more profound questions.
