Dee Posted 6 November , 2003 Share Posted 6 November , 2003 My granddad joined the RMLI in Sept 1914 and after his training joined the Chatham Battalion and was enlisted on to HMS Duncan. I know that HMS Duncan went off to Athens and the RMLI fought with France against the Greeks in 1916 prior to the Greeks joining the Allies. Does anyone know where I can find more information on this as I have a small exerpt from a book detailing a little of this battle but I would love to know more. I know that after the battle HMS Duncan returned to the UK and my granddad then went on to fight in France and was later......ahem.... court martialled and his services were "no longer required" in December 1919.
