Apologies in advance for any that think WW2 is the "wrong war".

There is to be a 45 minute prog entitled "The Boys from the 113" on Radio 2 tomorrow, Saturday, night.

Narrated by David Jason this documentary tells the story of Worthing's 113th Field Regiment Royal Artillery. Nine surviving Veterans tell of their experiences in Tunisia, Salerno and Anzio.

Nice to see that "Del Boy" wasn't killed at Gallipoli after all!

I have the history of 113th Field Regiment; it is a nice little history, signed by a veteran of the battalion. I bought it from a dealer in Worthing some time ago, but didn't know of the local connection until I read this article!

They served with the 56th Black Cat Division from Anzio to the Gothic Line, to Faenza.

56th (London) was my Grandfather's Division (221 Field Coy, R.E.). He is alive and well, telling hair-raising tales of Salerno!

Another member of the same Coy (Driver Roy Middleton) had a website recounting his experiences. Unfortunately, it seems to have gone offline recently.

Regards
