mordac Posted 8 November , 2003 Share Posted 8 November , 2003 Hi Dave: This is indeed sad news. From my research, there are now only 13 surviving WWI veterans now living in Canada. On Remembrance Day I'll place a poppy on our local cenotaph in remembrance on Mr. Radford. Garth P.S. Thanks for providing the link to The Herald's web site. john w. Posted 8 November , 2003 Share Posted 8 November , 2003 Just watched the Royal British Legion Festival of Remembrance and according to them only 27 Vets in the UK left. But tomorrow there will be three evidently in a vintage car.. first time ever at the parade... worth watching and I know some will be there Just thinking of Smiler Marshall, the last cavalryman to raise a sword in action, quite a feat and defo one for the history books.. Garth, I wonder if you could share the names, serving units, and present whereabouts of the surviving veterans with us, if possible. Dave, God bless this old soldier and all the others.
