michaeldr Posted 21 November , 2003 Share Posted 21 November , 2003 GSP/283 TT Coy ASC Cliff, Reading the ASC's alphabet soup is fraught with difficulties and I am by no means 'Literate' in this particular lingo, however, I see in Annex Q of Michael Young's history, that ASC company No.283 served on the Western Front, 7th Corps, Heavy Artillery, and that their role is given as "G" Corps Siege park (MT) Could this be the 'GSP' which you quote? For the moment 'TT' has me beat Regards Michael D.R.

michaeldr Posted 27 November , 2003 Share Posted 27 November , 2003 For the moment 'TT' has me beat Cliff, If speculation is allowed here, then looking at Young's table giving an example of transport for a Siege Artillery Battery, I see that he lists Motor Cars - 4 Motor Cycles - 9 3 ton Lorries - 24 30 cwt Lorries - 2 Caterpillar Tractors - 13 I wonder if your 'TT' was perhaps a way of differentiating between the usual MT designation and the Caterpillar Tractors ? Giving TT = Tractor Transport? Regards Michael D.R.
