Would anyone with access to the British Army Lists of 1914/15 be able to give me his date of commission, probably into The Royal Scots Fusiliers. I had that date from the London Gazette but I was left with the impression from the wording of the Gazette entry that he might have been commissioned at an earlier date into the Special Reserve of Officers, or into the Reserve Battalion.
