Guest bundu Posted 26 November , 2003 Share Posted 26 November , 2003 Gentlemen I was forwarded by the Military Horse board as I am looking for info on my grandfather, Arthur Elphick, soldier in the 12th Royal Lancers. He survived the Great War , although wounded and gassed (he took his first wound when he was 17) and died peacefully of old age in 1981. FYI I have a picture of his troop taken in Germany 1918: http://www.creative.gb.com/bundubasher/new_pics/hussars.jpg Be warned that it is a big file - 1.9Mb - he's at the back, ninth from the right (slanted helmet). Any information would be gratefully received. Warmest regards Jeremy Elphick-Pooley
Chris_Baker Posted 26 November , 2003 Share Posted 26 November , 2003 Hello Jeremy Welcome to the forum. That's a great photo; thanks for the link. If you click on "The Long, Long Trail" (top left of this page), and then follow the link to "Grandad's War", you will find a whole lot of tips on how to research his military career.
