Evening all.

I wonder if anyone can help me here.

A friend of mine, recently found out that his Great-grandad died during the Flu epedemic that happened at the end of WW1.

He was 14962,Driver H.A. Woodward,M.M,and died on the 29.1.19.

His unit was 86th Battery,32nd Brigade,Royal Field Artillery.

My friend would be interested to know, how Driver Woodward won his M.M.

Does anyone out there know anything about this Brigade and what Division it may have served with?

He is buried at La Louviere Town Cemetary,in Belgium, which i believe is not far from Mons.

Many thanks,in advance, for any help you may be able to give.

All the best.

Simon.

Click here for the award of the MM as listed in the London Gazette. A late listing: July 1919. Suggests an action not long before the Armistice.

If you look in The Long, Long Trail ;) you can see the Brigade was in 4th Division, which was in action at nearby Valenciennes in the last week before the Armistice.
