pazz106 Posted 30 November , 2003 Share Posted 30 November , 2003 Does anyone have access to German Regimental Histories. I am trying to find the exact location of the 469IR, 470IR & 471IR (240TH Division) from 20TH July 1918 to about 30TH July 1918. I know they were engaged against the 62ND Division but I would like to know their exact dispositions if possible. Pazz
CROONAERT Posted 30 November , 2003 Share Posted 30 November , 2003 Pazz. The 240th Division was encamped at Jonchery from July 21st to July 23rd. On the 23rd, it was engaged in the Bois de Reims. After the 27th it retreated on the Montagnes de Bligny and, later, towards Aubilly-Bouleuse. I don't know of anything else untill August 5th. Hope this is of some help. Dave.
pazz106 Posted 1 December , 2003 Author Share Posted 1 December , 2003 Thanks for your reply Dave. Can I take it that they were defending the Montaigne De Bligny when it was taken by the 8TH West Yorkshires on the 28TH July? Or had the 240TH moved by then?
