Hello.

For all you out there who have been trawling the internet and second hand bookshops for Sidney Rogerson's forgotten masterpiece. Well look no more, as the publishers of Twelve days (Greenhill Books) is now bringing it out on the 1st of June this year . Hooray!!

Ian ( a happy man)

Thanks for the heads up on this, Dawson. Twelve Days on the Somme was indeed a masterpiece, and like others I've longed to read Rogersons' other work. Looks like The Last of the Ebb will be my summer reading this year! Well done Greenhill Books!

Ciao,

GAC

  • 1 year later...

I have just finished 'The Last Of The Ebb' and got through it in two days, no New Year celebration for me, this was a hundred times better.

A superb book that I just couldn't put down.

The book is about the British retreat on the Aisne in May 1918, a period that became a 'soldiers battle' as the structure of command virtually collapsed and it was left to groups of soldiers, in the main led by NCO's, to slow the German advance.

A must for everyone.
