George Armstrong Custer Posted 13 February , 2007 Share Posted 13 February , 2007 Thanks for the heads up on this, Dawson. Twelve Days on the Somme was indeed a masterpiece, and like others I've longed to read Rogersons' other work. Looks like The Last of the Ebb will be my summer reading this year! Well done Greenhill Books! Ciao, GAC
SMG65 Posted 1 January , 2009 Share Posted 1 January , 2009 I have just finished 'The Last Of The Ebb' and got through it in two days, no New Year celebration for me, this was a hundred times better. A superb book that I just couldn't put down. The book is about the British retreat on the Aisne in May 1918, a period that became a 'soldiers battle' as the structure of command virtually collapsed and it was left to groups of soldiers, in the main led by NCO's, to slow the German advance. A must for everyone. Sean
