9th London Regiment

Can anyone explain the link between QVR and 9-London Regiment, please?

My grandfather was Pte 393193 G W Spencer, wounded and happily recovered at Dover Castle in 1918?

He passed on "his" army spoon but I see that it belonged to QVR 394621.

Were these units one and the same?

Thanks
