Terry Denham Posted 8 December , 2003 Share Posted 8 December , 2003 Go to the following website and you can do it online if you wish. Otherwise the instructions are there for other methods. You will be getting one from the Overseas Death Register. http://www.statistics.gov.uk/registration/...al_register.asp

Tom Morgan Posted 9 December , 2003 Share Posted 9 December , 2003 Marc, I have a cert in front of me for a soldier killed/died overseas and the column headings are: Rgtl. No. Rank Name in Full (Surname First) Age Country of Birth Date of Death Place of Death ("France" seems to be used for Belgium, too) Cause of Death (Not very specific - "Killed in Action) Tom
Terry Denham Posted 9 December , 2003 Share Posted 9 December , 2003 The Overseas Certificate also gives Regiment and battalion at the top. The certificate for servicemen dying in the UK is the normal civilian one. This gives more detailed info on cause of death, location and next-of-kin. InkyBill Posted 10 December , 2003 Share Posted 10 December , 2003 Cheers Guys For those killed overseas it seems theres no more info than can't be found in SDGW or CWGC, deaths at home sounds a little more promising. Marc
