jim_davies Posted 13 December , 2003 Share Posted 13 December , 2003 Stephen, I'm far from an expert but would suggest Pte Spencer was an early war volunteer, possibly Aug or Oct 1914. Pte Samuel Giblett with the service number 14336 is described in the local newspapers in 1915 (at the time of his death) as having enlisted at the outbreak on the war. Keep in mind the newspapers at the time may have got Giblett's enlistment date wrong, but its a starting point for you. Jim Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
