kebabking Posted 14 May , 2007 Share Posted 14 May , 2007 As i have developed an interest in WW1 a friend has offered me some books languishing in his loft. The history of the great European war (its causes and effects) W Stanley McBean Knight Published by Caxton c 1920 Have tried google and search on here no refernce (may not be entering correct info) He said there are 10 volumes. Anyone help with their val;ue? He is giving me them gratis. Would feel guilty if I accepted then found them valuable.

Guest mruk Posted 4 November , 2007 Share Posted 4 November , 2007 Bargain of the Week I managed to buy all ten volumes in Leeds Market for £12 on Friday. There's some foxing, and two of the spines have slightly faded, but in exceptionally good condition overall. There are also some very good coloured maps inside. I think the price does vary, but a real bargain at 12 quid. One thing I did notice was the difference in illustration on the spine-between the volumes I bought and those advertised on other sites. Is there any reason for this? Cheers, Dave
