trin1054 Posted 14 June , 2007 Share Posted 14 June , 2007 I've come across many mentions of this book on the forum. Most say how difficult it is to get hold of a copy so just thought I'd let people know that I spotted that it's going to be reprinted: Kitchener's Army. No doubt many other retailers will be selling copies etc.
Graham Stewart Posted 14 June , 2007 Share Posted 14 June , 2007 A "bible" among books on the New Armies and currently like rocking horse sh*t to get hold of. Luckily bought my soft back when it was first published in 1988. Still an outstanding book in my opinion, matched in some respects by Germains "The Kitcheners Armies", published in the 1930's and not widely known of or read and even more difficult to get hold of. Graham.
Paul Reed Posted 14 June , 2007 Share Posted 14 June , 2007 Would agree with Graham, an excellent and seminal work - a most welcome reprint indeed.

Dave1914 Posted 28 June , 2007 Share Posted 28 June , 2007 I've been after this book for sometime. I've had the hardback lended from the library for almost a year know, this reprinting will certainly been benefical to my study of the Pals! daggers Posted 11 January , 2010 Share Posted 11 January , 2010 Germaine's 'The Kitchener Armies - the story of a national achievement', Peter Davies Ltd, 1930. I have a charity shop purchase, stamped 'Royal Naval War Libraries'! Is this a hen's tooth? D
Steven Broomfield Posted 11 January , 2010 Share Posted 11 January , 2010 I have a junk shop purchase of Germain's book which I acquired some years ago, so we could start a necklace of hens' teeth.
