Borden Battery Posted 7 October , 2010 Share Posted 7 October , 2010 Canada's National Army, Canada's National Interest 1918, 2008 - Terry Copp Journal of Military and Strategic Studies, Volume 10, Issue 3. This speech in Calgary, part of the 2008 Ross Ellis Memorial Lecture in Military and Strategic Studies, examines the decisions taken by Prime Minister Sir Robert Laird Borden and Lieutenant-General Sir Arthur Currie in the last years of the Great War and then raise some questions about foreign and defence policy in the era of Prime Minister Harper and General Hillier. There are a number of references to Sir General Arthur Currie with background information. IanA Posted 7 October , 2010 Share Posted 7 October , 2010 I'm sure there must be a good reason for resurrecting a three year old criticism of a Haig biography to advertise material on Currie but I am struggling to find it.
SiegeGunner Posted 8 October , 2010 Share Posted 8 October , 2010 Amen to that. We desperately need new biographies of Ludendorff, Falkenhayn, Mackensen, and especially Hindenburg. I'd also like to see a biography of Arthur Currie - for my money one of the most underrated leaders of the war. I suspect it was this post that came up when Borden Battery searched the forum archive on 'Currie'.
