Noted on eBay (listed under collectibles) that this had become available. Any of the Sherwoods crew (or any Pal) seen it yet and would like to comment? Originates from Long Eaton.

Richard,

I've seen it, been tempted, but not commited to buy one yet

To be honest I hadn't realised a 12th History was on the cards and also didn't realise Cliff was co-author

Is the seller a member of GWF?

cheers

Mike

I got one in exchange for my 9th Bn history (done or what!). Small soft back 129 pages. Does have some pictures and maps in it. Does have a casualty list but no Nominal Roll for men but one for officers.

It does tell the basic history of the 12th Bn but for a joint effort by Cliff and Justin, I would probably have wanted more.

A report in the Derby Telegraph mentions that it took them 18 months to do it!

I've got a copy and have read it. Pity it wasn't edited. The number of spelling and grammatical errors became a distraction. "Companies" was actually spelt correctly only once throughout the book. Sometimes there were 5 errors on a single page! Where "company's" came from Lord only knows.

Still, a history is a history and an addition to the public knowledge of the Great War
