Alfred Edward HAINES, .

I think he enlisted on January 1st, 1916. He joined the R.G.A. He married Florence Gertrude URAND on 20th Feb 1916 at St Johns Church, Leytonstone (age=26, Profession=Now serving with HM forces Eastham, Residence=8 Woodlands Road, Fathers Name-Edward John HAINES) and went to France in May, 1916 where in the Ypres Salient he was killed by a shell on June 24th, 1917. He was 29.

I have the CWGC commemorative information (Gunner 293900, 141st Heavy Battery, RGA), but it does not give any details as to his address or elatives.

Someone has kindly looked up his details in the "Soldiers Died In The Great

War" CD and the only extra information that I have is that he was born in

Poplar, enlisted at Eastham and Resided in Canning Town. Can anyone help with finding any more information about his family and movements? Suzie
