It's possible to upload the spreadsheet which is presented as an xlsx link. Admin may be able to pin it to post#1 although with updates to the sheet it could get overcomplicated.

I've been wondering if a new topic discussing these sheets would be in order once your spreadsheet was completed and cross referencing, locating etc all the lists becomes an easier task.

That would keep this topic free of discussion and for new sheets.

There was mention of another 5000 ish sheets via FMP.

I'd say that how these lists can be used and their value will open up a variety of research ideas once the spreadsheet is available.

TEW

Thanks TEW.

Yes, I was concerned that posting the index on page 58 of an already very long thread would lessen its value since it would be very hard to find, especially as you say that the thread is only likely to continue to grow rapidly.  A new topic sounds sensible.

Thanks again,

David.

Beware! Please have a word with @spof before you make any decisions as I ran into difficulties trying to complete posting of my Cas List spreadsheet. Apparently you are only allocated a certain amount of xl data? Dunno because I never received an answer

And two more, both in the service record of William Hutchinson McDonald, Cameronians.

H 5956

HA 527

I don't think we've had them before but it's a long list to go through.

2 of these 3 are badly ink stained but you can make out details of a few Officers. The 3rd list is a continuation of the second X44897

Thank you. Another for me to the same casualty as on a previous list. 160 PTE. CLAYTON, W. 2-K.R.R. RIF. I have the 1914/5 star and victory medal to Y-160 PTE. W. CLAYTON. K.R. RIF.C.

Thanks Brian.  dink999 did post a list with number H.5956 recently but it contains a different set of individuals so both these are new.

These are the last three partial lists that I posted on this thread. Page 25. Any others went onto the thread I started RE sick and Wounded 1916. I did date most of the latter but I am going to check.

RE names Burke / Cook - September 1916 but two were evacuated to England in October.

RE names O'Reilly / Brook - July 1916 and

RE names Rewell / Bayley - October 1916.

I also found this list this morning, I could not find in on the schedule but I cannot search by number.

HA 1203 July 1916 (Ancestry WO 363 Fer 1272).

After 3 months and some 80+ hours searching through the 6,700+ Newfoundlanders Service Records this is the last batch to post. Thanks to @David26 we know this totals some 3,600 lists that are not on FMP. I’ve probably scanned through over 750,000 images with one man’s record having 747 pages.

I do have around 5,000 lists from FMP that I have collected and catalogued and will decide what is worth posting in due course.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for the marvellous effort you have both put into this thread highlighting, for me, the countless missing lists as it seems a casualty could be named on at least 3 lists. An incredible find

Dave,

Just want to add my thanks to you for such a mammoth effort, excellent work! I eagerly looked forward to your posts every day to check the new lists. While I was hoping I might find which hospital my grandfather was sent to in Dannes Camiers, I knew I was unlikely to be rewarded. Closest I came was someone who had been at the same CCS as him, who was transferred to another hospital after arrival there.

Well done!

Keith

That's a fantastic achievement.  Well done Dave.  These will serve as a great resource for researchers.

Thanks Brian.  I have updated those lists.

And as for HA.1203 - you posted a list with this number on page 28, but that was for RE and RGA men, so this is a new list.  Thank you!

Yes

I checked mine and it was a RE list. I am moving on to my thread RE Sick and Wounded 1916. I may amend the name because there are lots of RFA and other names.

Thank you for all your recent hard work on this thread.

Phenomenal work by Dave & David.

Expect it will open up new avenues of research.

Could someone give a total number of list images in this topic so far?

Thank you TEW.

I'm away from my computer at the moment and hope to post the full index tomorrow.

But later on I'll let you know how many different lists we have (if memory serves it's a little over 4400). I haven’t been tracking numbers of images as such and so the number of lists will be a bit different from the total number of images posted on the thread.

There are of course various reasons for that including that many of the early lists were provided as transcripts rather than images, there are a few lists which have been posted more than once due to the sheer number of postings and some images have more than one list on them - that's especially true of the Progress Reports where 4 or 5 reports are common on a single image.

David.
