Guest Don Webb Posted 29 January , 2004 Share Posted 29 January , 2004 My grandfather Henry Cave served in the 7th liverpool regiment in the first world war. The only information I have is from the back of my mother's birth certificate. 19886 7th liverpools, wellfield cottages, st james, lathom. Can anyone help with where he may have served, I know he was gassed and returned home.
Ken Lees Posted 29 January , 2004 Share Posted 29 January , 2004 Don, I can't help with your grandfather, but I have details of a Pte John Cave, 11th King's Liverpool Regt., who died of wounds on 21/3/18 He was son of Henry and Hannah Cave, of 6, Gaw Hill Lane, Aughton; husband of Margaret Cave, of 23, Halsall Lane, Aughton. He was born in Bickerstaffe in about 1890. Bickerstaffe is adjacent to Lathom. A relation perhaps? Ken
