Malcolm Posted 30 January , 2004 Share Posted 30 January , 2004 2/4th London were in Royal Naval Division up to end 1915 and then 53rd Division in Med. Broken up in 1916 on the Western Front - where he went after 1916 may be found from any record etc at NA if they exist. See Royal Fusiliers on main site and go to the bottom of the list to London Territorials. Aye Malcolm
Chris_Baker Posted 30 January , 2004 Share Posted 30 January , 2004 Hello Aaron Welcome to the forum. Malcolm is quite right, but if you'd like to see the potted history of the battalion that I have on the Long, Long, Trail, click here. 24 August 1915 was when he landed in Egypt 10 October when he went to the Helles area on Gallipoli 23 December 1915 back to Egypt The few days 'gaps' are when he was on the move. 24 April 1916, it would not surprise me if this was France, and with (or more likely, to join) a different unit as the 2/4th had been broken up. It may be that he was posted to 1/4th.
