Hi,

I wonder if anyone has any information about the 6th London Rifles the Territorial Force unit that I believe was formed in Finsbury, London.

My great grandfather was a member from before the outbreak of the war until a posting in June 1917. I have some sketchy information that may place them in Southwold and Burgess Hill.

I am also looking for a 6th Londons cap badge of anyone knows wheer I can get one!!

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Lee

Hi lee

Do you mean the 6th Battalion the London Regiment known as the The Cast Iron Sixth?

If so they were part of the 47th (London Division) of which you can find out more on the Home page , I would put a link in , but hav'nt worked out how to do it yet!

I've just purchased the Divisional history , so if you need any look ups , let me know.

regards

Steve
