Dolphin Posted 1 February , 2004 Share Posted 1 February , 2004 A W Newton was born on 12 September 1879 and was commissioned into the RDF in 1900, with a promotion to Lieutenant in August 1902. A Blackheath player, he was capped for England v Scotland in the 1907 Rugby International (3-8) at his club's home ground. He also played for the Barbarians v Cardiff (0-17) and Exeter (18-3) in 1907. In 1908 he resigned his commission. In a number of Rugby histories A W Newton is shown as being "believed to have been killed in action during the 1914-1918 War", but I couldn't find him in the CWGC register. Does anyone know what happened to him?
