Did you manage to get to the Bois du Biez just north of Lorgies. A number of bunkers are said to remain along its eastern edge and the remains of trenchlines and small shell crater remain inside the wood (see Aubers Ridge by Edward Hancock).

Looking a Google maps there appears to be some traces but it may well be that they are just ditches - see attached. Anybody been any closer?

I have had a look at trench maps but do not get a direct comparison

No.I haven't been there but,I do know a Chemin du Bois.It may be the same one so I will go look.

Like last year,we (Tony E,SeigeGooner & meself) went to Victoria's 9th May commemoration &,I say it proudly,it was even better than last year with many folk turning up(I counted nearly 40 cars).Well done to all involved.Like I said to Victoria afterwards,this is the only 'do' where I can legitimately commemorate my family members that died in the War.

Thankyou all for that :thumbsup: .
