I'm looking for a book on the Scots Guards as a present for a relative over in the USofA, and wondered if someone could recommend me either a currently in-print book or something else suitable ?

If not new, should be in decent condition.

Thanks in advance.

Slainte, Alan

Hi

I would recommend:

"The Scots Guards in the Great War 1914-1919" by F. Loraine Petre, Wilfrid Ewart & major-General Sir Cecil Lowther

You can order a copy from www.naval-military-press.com

Alan

Strong Oak Press re-printed Wilfrid Ewart's Scots Guard on the Western Front 1915-1918 ISBN 1 971048 27 3 in 2001. I bought a copy through Naval & Military Press.

Ewart was a junior officer with the Guards, and wrote part of the history of the regiment's role in the War, as well as the above autobiography.

I hope that this helps you.

Gareth
