The Zebrugge Raid, Paul Kendal, The History Press,

I've done very little more than scan the text as yet, but this looks like a very sound and exhaustive new book on the raid - which has taken the author six years of research and writing. Originally written for the estimable Spellmount Press (which is now part of The History Press) it offers the original company's excellent quality printing, reproduction and graphic design. Apart from the anticipated text about the raid it includes the elements which are often excluded for reasons of publishing cost (or writers' sloth) which raise a book above the usual valuable; appendices offer - naval force composition, roles of the participating vessels, roll of honour, honours and awards, bibliography, and details of photographic sources. If I were to chose between this and Warner's old warhorse, this would be my choice, although both would be nice for the Zebrugge completist (and at £25.00 it costs just £5.01 more than the Warner work).
